My design journey

The students at The Design Crew

How I went from data engineer to product designer

In 2020, I discovered UI design while I was working as a data engineer. I was, among other things, responsible for creating and automating dashboards for some sales department. It quickly became my favorite part of the job. I started looking for more opportunities to design things, to the point where I finally decided to quit being engineer to become a full fledged designer.
In order to do so, I joined the Design Crew's Bootcamp. There I was taught the fundamentals of Product Design by passionate professionals, we even had two french start-ups' lead Designer come by so we could work on their products. With these experiences I was ready to jumb into the world of Design.

My first steps as a product designer

Right after the Bootcamp, I started working as a freelance : I designed websites, applications, logos... I even started to learn HTML, CSS and JS to implement my designs. I had a lot of fun, and I learned so much. But I felt I needed to work with more senior profiles to take the step further.
Which is why I joined the innovative design studio : Agily. I became in charge of creating and maintaining Design Systems for their clients, something I had never done before. Surrounded by talented people, I learned fast and worked even faster to deliver within tight deadlines. I became specialized in Atomic Design Systems and got used to work with designers and developers to keep design consistent.

Be a product designer for the better

I learned a lot from my time at Agily : How approaching a product with a UX perspective can make it more efficient and pleasing for the user and how structuring designs can drastically improve and speed up the design and development process.
In 2023, I quitted the company to resume my activity as a freelance. Today, I work with companies with strong ecological and/or human values. I apply my skillset to help them deliver impactful experiences to their users and meet their business objectives.
